# Depositing in a Hive

To begin using ApiaryFi a Bera should take some time to browse the available Hives. Each Hive will have different goals, voting on different Beradrome gauges and paying out rewards in different tokens.

Once a user has decided on the Hive of their choice they can deposit oBERO tokens into the Hive. **Take note, depositing oBERO into an Apiary Hive is a one way transaction. This is because all oBERO deposited into a hive is burnt into governance power in the Beradrome.**

Beradrome governance power earns swap fees in the form of HONEY and BERO as well as protocol emissions in the form of oBERO. These rewards accrue into the Hive in proportion to its governance power.
